The Kodachadri Hidlumane Trek is a scenic and moderately challenging adventure in the Western Ghats of Karnataka. Expect dense forests, cascading waterfalls, and sweeping views that make it a favorite among nature lovers and adventure seekers.

Covering around 24 km through the Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary, the trail blends lush shola forests, marvellous grasslands, and the stunning Hidlumane Falls before reaching Kodachadri Peak. The route is steeped in history?Adi Shankaracharya is believed to have meditated here?and forest permits/booking IDs are mandatory before starting the trek.

Itinerary

Day 0 - Pickup Points & Timings

  • 7:30 PM ? Karachi Bakery, Indiranagar
  • 7:45 PM ? Domlur Skywalk, Domlur
  • 9:00 PM ? Yeshwantpur Metro Station (towards Tumkur side)
  • 9:15 PM ? People Tree Hospitals, Goraguntepalya

Day 1 & Day 2

  • 6:00 AM reach base camp or homestay; 7:30 AM breakfast; 8:30 AM start the trek with packed lunch.
  • 1:00 PM lunch (packed); 4:30 PM descend from the peak; 6:45 PM tea/snacks; 7:00 PM campfire if weather permits; 8:30 PM dinner.
  • Day 2: 7:30 AM breakfast; 8:30 AM check out; 9:00 AM Devagange Pond visit; 11:30 AM Nagara Fort; 1:30 PM self-sponsored lunch en route; by 10:00 PM reach Bangalore.
  • Forest permits/booking ID required; ensure registration before the trek.
